Hi all.
Track days are great fun and I think they really help you with your road riding skills and abilities.
You get to know your bike and what it is "really" capable of and what "we" as riders are capable of plus you get to meet some sound people and have a right good crack!!.

Ill drop in a few links if people want to have a read through.

    Great info stopi.

I suspect a lot of people have no idea wher to start on this and the whole proposition is scary enough anyway.

Is it a scary day or are most people in the same boat?

No, its not at all scary. In fact it's pretty laid back and no one is there to win a trophy or become the next Marquez.
Everyone gets briefed before the event starts so everyone has a good under standing or what's acceptable and what isn't.

In general it's split into three groups, novice, intermediate and fast.
Each group has approx 30 riders and 3 (sometimes more) staff/ instructors out with you making sure everyone is having a good time and people abide by the briefing chat.
Like anything new and exciting it's best to start off in the novice group and just enjoy yourself.

Once you have done one its hard to not become addicted!!
    Ride safe guys.

    Great ideas.

I think getting some tuition or guide around your first laps would be very sensible.

I always thought it was more money. Lke to do it.

Mostly worried about dropping my bike.
Is it actually rare to crash if you dont completely go mad?

    Thanks for the info stopi.

The only thing I'm worried about is my exhaust. I'd want to get it noise tested before I put any money down.
(Changing back to stock can is not an option as it was a nightmare to change)

I know what you mean. Most peope have nopn stanard exhausta now.
Some track days are perhaps more lenient than others.

i'd rather just hire a bike there, depends on cost really.

I would like to hire a bike but there is cost and getting used to it as well. Might take some time to get fully comfortable on a new bike.

I'm thinking of buying a dB meter to test myself. If anyone else wants to be tested then it could be arranged to be done at Boxhill or Loomies.
I know the ACU test procedure but of course the results could vary from the official track day so it would only be a guide figure.

Been looking at a track session but would rather pay extra and ride a blade or something not my own basically.

Its the 'Dominator' exhaust from Poland.
Well, I got a dB meter and tested it with the baffle IN

    Using ACU method; 50cm at 45deg 5000rpm (2cyl-4stroke +750cc)

    I got... 107

I've since modded another baffle packed with steel wool and it now measures 102 :D
(I did a reset procedure to re-calibrate the ECU)

This Friday I'll be booking an evening session at Brands on the 29th June.
I'll make a post when booked if anyone wants to meet there.
