Best bike for 10K ? Recommendations Question

I know, its impossible without more info, as bikes can be so dfferent,

I strictly dont wana spend more than 10 grand.
Dont care on the make.
It needs to have a FUN element, not too expensive to run (relative to fragile italians), frugal, well built.
I dont want something silly fast but i do like some sportiness and ideally reasonable comfort.

If i had to choose i wold prefer sporty nature.

dont mind second hand used bike but must still be inwarranty and pref less than 1 year old.

ta

Ah, had a Monster 800 about 8 years ago and wanna get back into motorbiking!
Doesnt have to be a monster kinda bike, actually prefer something diffeent.

You can get some mint bikes for under 10grand man.

Sports, new, how about the new Suzuki gsx-r 750! Comes with Yoshimura exhaust , brill bike, like a 1000 in a 600 body.
Theyve just knocked money off as well as I was only looking at this earlier today.

    Thats a huge question :D

10k will give you a wide selection of used bikes.
First you have to narrow down your requirements.
Will it be used for commuting or weekend fun?

For comfort & fun I would suggest to look at the Honda sports range.
I haven't ridden many makes but to be honest I think they're all equally reliable.
Its all down to which one grabs your attention.

Look at bike mags and online to see the range. Then get more info on ones you like the look of.

Let us know which you like...

I currently ride a yamaha rx100, an the bike I am going to upgrade to is the cbr650f. An I would put that as the go to bike for under £10,000 as it's a boat load less than that, it's a good looking bike, pluss it's not so sporty that commuting on it will feel a chore.....I have also heard they're great for touring too.

Yeah, that 650 is a really nice looking bike. I rode it back to back with a Fireblade at the time and look wise i thought the 650 was actually better looking.

It is so smooth and easy to ride, it makes an absolutely perfect bike for people like yourselfs coming from a smaller bike, or new riders.
Have you had a chacne to go out on one yet? I suspect you wont believe how incedibly smooth it is and just how un-scary it is.
Well, until you use full throttle at about 5000 revs and it flies! :)

There are a lot of good triumphs NEw for less than 10 grand and they offer the rider everything really. Really good bikes.
Yamaha mT-09 tracer is a good all rounder as well.
You might be able to get a Honda VFR 800 for 10 grand as well and thats a perfect bike.

    That is NICE!

For 10k you can get some very good NEW bikes. The benefits of new are great:

    • Possible great finance deals
    • Nobody else would have murdered it beforehand
    • You get to know the bike well in the running in period
    • It will look mint and you will be more motivated to keep it that way.
    • No MOT and generally much lower running costs
    • Peace of mind and a nice 2 or 3 year warranty

You can get anything you want for 10K - great sports bike , capable tourer, sports tourer, powerful naked, etc.

I liked the review by Ade - not massively keen on suzuki bikes and not even sure why not :)

I have been out on a second hand monster but i do want something different.
that scranbler from ducati looks a bit tame for me really. guess i need more power or muscle sort of thing,

will be heading over to a triumph dealer soon.

The triumph street triple is acknowledged as one the best bikes ever and the natural choice of many. In budget.

MT-09 looks like good value but if you dont need the power just get the MT-07.
Looks a bit nicer and is just over 5K which is a steal.
if you have money left over then get the Akra pipe and some other nice bits.

    Fair shout.
I am heavily thinking about a naked or super naked.
There are several on my wishlist but one keps coming back to the smaller MT as it is terific value for sure.

MT-09 tracer is the answer to this.
Might not be my personal choice but it IS the answer on the basis that it is the best selling bike so far in 2015 I believe.
