Anyone interested in doing a track day at Brands or Goodwood later this year?
(know any others around the South East)

Just to get an idea of numbers....

EDIT: Apparently Goodwood is out as its very expensive and has low noise limits.

When you say track day, do you mean in racing or it it more social and non-competitive?
Dont fancy riding around with wannabe McGuinnesses. :)

Track days are non competitive. Its just a chance to play on your bike the way it was meant to be done without danger of cars, street furniture or crap road surfaces. All kinds of bikes can enter the novice group.

I believe that in most of them you can get tips on your riding from the officials too.

There are usually three groups that ride separately; novice, intermediate and expert.
I would be going in novice since I haven't done a track day before.

Sounds good. Is there possibilities to go out on a one to one lesson with intercom to get some skills?
Just worried that I will never get to achieve near my best if i just go out myself.

No intercoms on track days. They will follow you and comment on your riding afterwards but its not really a lesson.
For real lessons you'd have to pay for an actual race course to get 1:1 tuition. I don't think they use intercoms for that either.

I've done two this year so far.
    Mallory park and Cadwellpark.
If your ever up in the Midlands EDcase you gotta give Mallory a go.
This is me and a few friends.
    I'm on my zx10r.

No limits will give you free tuition. They ride out with you and assess then give you feedback, advice and pointers.

Aw, I'd love to got there but its a bit far for me. It has to be somewhere I can go and return in one day :(
I'll probably start with an evening session at Brands. The Indy circuit isn't great but its a start.

Your video says not available :(

    Evening track days sound good.

What sort of cost is it really - as in entrance, fuel, and the actual impact on mike mechanics and tyres?

I think an evening session is approx £40 to £60 to enter (circuit dependent).
A full tank of fuel (Max) again this depends how hard you press on.
Mechanics and tyres wont take that much of a beating as you'd be learning the circuit before pressing on.
One thing I've heard is to avoid the "Open pit lane sessions" these sessions can be chaos as its a free for all and recommended experienced riders only.
If you get a mo have a look here....
