Airbag Jackets Bikes Reviews

Just wondering what everybody's thoughts are on inflating airbag jackets.

It seems that many people will not wear them as it would make them less cool.

Anyway, I managed to speak with the owner of Helite UK about their fast inflating jackets and vest and stuck up a video on our motorcycle YouTube channel, shown below:

    Well, not really mate.

Ok, you can spend a total of £200 on a full textile suit and perhaps 400 on cheaper leathers but i personally know a chap who spent 1000 JUST on a rukka jacket and 500 on trousers and he is pretty skint and his bike was only 4 grand.

Anyway, 600 quid on a top quality jacket with an airbag as well which is a lifesaver - sounds like a friggin bargain!:)

Talking from a sports bike rider point of view...
Interesting product but I'm not convinced its worth the money to be honest.

Spending the same amount of money on a racing suit will give you more armour protection of limbs and the body would be very well protected too.

...and the most vulnerable parts of a rider in a crash are head and neck which the jacket doesn't help much.

One of these airbag vests came through to me this morning.
I wil be doing a video review on it. It is brilliant in addition to anything else that one wears.

Are you going to activate it and fall down ;)

Actually, that's a question... I presume its reusable? How hard/expensive is it to get new gas bulb and reset it?

They need to design one that fits over a racing suit with the back hump.
